Because this little red house and white wooden tower are closer to the sea than the actual Pemmiquid "Light" they stand up more dramatically against the immensity of the sea beyond.
Beside them you are on the edge of a cliff: a false step could be your last. Beauty is sometimes best admired from a prudent distance.
